A Fun, Fall Gender Reveal with Girlfriends

This year, my girlfriends and I hosted our fourth annual Boozy Apple picking tradition, minus the apples and the booze. This was due to me being six months pregnant with my first baby, and for us pushing this event back so late in the season (on Halloween day, to be exact).

Every year, we drive about 20 minutes outside of Columbus to get to Lynd’s Fruit Farm, located in Pataskala, Ohio, where we pick apples and pumpkins, take photos, and often times leave with a half gallon of unpasteurized apple cider or a couple of pints of spicy pickles.

We started this tradition, in spite of our men not wanting to share this fun fall outing with us; so, instead we decided to share it with one another. Typically, this requires a freshly beat face, hats and beanies, boots or booties, a cute or sexy outfit, a drink of choice, and a high quality camera to capture “The Shot.”

Every year, this tradition of ours just keeps getting better and better. This year, we had an added accessory to the required lineup—and that was a mask or face covering. COVID-19 has taken a lot away from us this year, but thankfully this was not one of them.

With that, I also decided to share a fun surprise with some of my favorite women by hosting the reveal of our baby’s gender in the pumpkin patch. I literally couldn’t have imagined doing it any other way. Enjoy!

It’s official! We’re having a GIRL! My husband and I, including our family and closest friends are beyond excited to be welcoming a daughter, granddaughter, niece, and cousin to the crew in February 2021.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize and appreciate the purpose and meaning behind creating and celebrating traditions. I cannot wait to meet our sweet baby girl, and one day be able to share and celebrate this annual fall tradition with her. I hope you stay safe this season, and create new traditions of your own, or celebrate the timeless ones you already have today.
