When you were a kid, how many times did you make blueprints of building your very own tree house? A tree house with a rope ladder and bird’s eye view, am I right? For me, it was one too many times and instead my brother and I built play forts out of bed sheets and dining room chairs. Yep, the parents got cheap on us and the trees in our backyard weren’t the best for tree house building. So as time passed I accepted the fact that I’d never have that beautiful tree house in my backyard, but thanks to Tree House Owners Kevin and Laura Mooney I don’t have too. The Tree Houses at the Mohicans (23164 Vess Road, Glenmont, OH 44628) was better than any childhood blueprint I could have ever created and let me just add, I created some pretty awesome blueprints of tree houses.
This past Sunday, I was given the exciting opportunity to spend a day in the trees (and I mean literally in the trees). The Tree Houses at The Mohicans should be a bucket list item for every Ohioan. The beauty and serenity of the Old Pine Tree House was absolutely magical and I’m so happy I got to share this child-like experience with my Mom. Not only did we enjoy our stay at the tree houses, but we also went hiking at the Mohican State Park, climbed the last standing Fire Tower in Ohio, walked underneath Big Lyons Falls, and slipped a few times on the muddy trails.
