Last Thursday, my friend Jamilah and I decided to have a "Girls Night In" at Igloo Letterpress hosted by 614 Magazine. The night included wine, macaroons, miniature cupcakes (gluten-free), and gold foiling and letter pressing. It was my first time at Igloo Letterpress and I had so much fun. It was great hanging out with a group of girls that just needed a night out, not necessarily your typical happy hour, but something fun with a little twist.

How many of you love receiving personalized mail? Nowadays, sending mail is almost an ancient art form, which will probably be lost when I have kids. Well, I don't know about you, but I love receiving personalized mail or any mail that comes in a bright colored envelope. Why? Because it means 1. Someone cares enough about me to postmark mail instead of sending a simple text message and 2. Colorful mail (sometimes, not always) means there's $$$ inside! The relative who sends you the money, loves you the most! Just kidding... partially. Well, guess what?
The Igloo Letterpress is the perfect place to create your own holiday cards this season. You can make it your own by choosing your own wording, mix-and-matching your stamps, and choosing from a variety of bright colored envelopes to send your hand pressed card. The art of gold foiling and letter pressing is actually quite easy. It sounds intense, but Allison Chapman and her professional team can make it a breeze.
This was the first time Allison and her team hosted a DIY event and they plan to host many more in the future. Please refer to their website and Facebook page for more information. If you're creative and looking to do something fun and different in the Columbus area, I highly recommend you sign-up for a class or stop by to see all the vintage letterpress machines that Allison received through an inheritance from her grandfather.
She turned a family legacy into a business and I absolutely loved her down-to-earth personality and her willingness to share her family history and background experience. Jamilah and I were extremely happy with our hand pressed cards and we can't wait to send them out to family and friends this holiday season.
Thank you, 614 Magazine and Igloo Letterpress for hosting such a great event!
