The Blowout Bar - Bringing Big City Trends to Columbus, Ohio

The Blowout Bar

It’s Saturday morning, you’re just now waking up from being out all night and you may be slightly hung over from one too many tequila shots. It’s only one shot – they said, it’ll be fun – they said. Now look at you – today’s your best friend’s bridal shower and you need to quickly pull yourself together before the day begins. You’re already short on time and you have a million miscellaneous tasks that require your attention.

As you wipe last night’s mascara off your face, you take one good look in the mirror and realize, “Oh shit, my hair is a hot a** mess – just perfect”. Let’s be honest, you have no energy to wash, style, or blow-dry your hair – but with one quick phone call to The Blowout Bar you don’t need too. And once again, someone besides your parents pulled you out of a tight situation (that’s what she said).

The Blowout Bar located in Grandview Heights and Dublin offers a quick service that includes a wash, blowout and style. It all starts with a hair wash and scalp massage, followed by your choice of a blowout. What is a blowout?

It’s a method of hair styling that focuses more on using high-powered hair dryers, round brushes, and other styling tools rather than using a conventional hair straightener. Curling irons and straighteners are still available on hand, but the main goal is to style through the blowout.

Also, you won’t find a pair of scissors or a box of coloring products anywhere because it is a blow-dry only salon. Sisters and co-owners, Kristin and Kailin Kouvas brought the concept of a blowout bar to Columbus based on their traveling experiences to big cities such as New York and Los Angeles.

We have been opened for two years now and plan on expanding once we get more comfortable. Columbus loves it and I’m excited to bring a trending styling method in the beauty industry to the city.

You can schedule an appointment by phone, online, or by walking in to get serviced. They accommodate ALL hair types both refined and textured which was reassuring because my hair is very much textured.

The Blowout Bar

I am always a little apprehensive when it comes to letting new hair stylists do my hair, but co-owner Kristin Kouvas reassured me that her stylists were skilled to do textured hair. My hair stylist, Emily, at the Grandview Heights location made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire process.

I was styled with the Bahama Mama (messy, beach waves) which provided an edgy look to my ombré hair color. A blowout typically lasts 3-5 days and I’m happy to say that after three days my curls are still intact. If you’re looking to try a new style or try something different, schedule your appointment today at The Blowout Bar. And once again, thank you Kristin, Kailin and Emily for my beautiful new hair-do, I love it!
