I'm back! I just got back from Orlando, FL on Friday and all I've been thinking about is Columbus Living. On July 3rd, I received more than 15,000+ views! That is so amazing and I appreciate all the love and support from friends and fellow Columbus Bloggers. Thank you!
I want this blog to continue to be resourceful to Columbus natives and those who are visiting so I decided to tackle my next venture - Rock Climbing. I'm beyond excited to share my rock climbing experience with you all because I had so much fun and I received a great work-out. This past week, I told myself that I was going to start doing activities I want to do each day. Why? Because it's important to make time for yourself and while I was on vacation I came to the realization that I don't do enough in my day (not just work, but activities I want to do). So this weekend, I attended the North Market Ohio Wine Festival along with going rock climbing at Vertical Adventures.
Vertical Adventures has been taking fitness to new heights for the past 19 years. If you love rock climbing or if you're looking to take a break from the dumbbells, this is a great upper body work-out. If you have a present fear of heights, this place is perfect for beginners and advanced climbers. I did my first rocking climbing session this past Saturday and there were children as young as five years old climbing. The Rock Climbing community is so friendly and I was given a brief orientation by staff member, Johanna and I was accompanied by my friend Joe as my be-layer. I rock climbed for two hours and towards the end my arms started to give out. It was such a crazy feeling to know my arms had been working that hard.
If you take a look at the photos I've taken, one can see the different colored tape associated with the rocks. Can you see it? The colored tape designates climbers to climb a specific path up the wall. Rock climbing is dangerous and challenging, but Vertical Adventures does a great job reducing the risks of climbing for all ages. I climbed more than six different paths on the walls (including auto-belay). I plan on returning very soon and I can't wait to challenge myself even further.
Auto-Belay: is an automatic belay system designed for the climbing industry to support those without climbing partners.
So what do you think? Are you ready to tackle your fear of heights? Are you ready to change up your normal work-out? Just do it and I promise you that your experience will be worth it.
