ClassPass is here! Now it’s time for you to cancel your boring, ineffective gym membership and sign-up for ClassPass today. I would never encourage people to buy an item or service if I didn't support it myself, but if you've seen my Instagram or Facebook page, you know that I’m genuinely in love with ClassPass. Here are eight reasons why:
1. Group Fitness – A sense of community
ClassPass is all about group fitness! It feels good to work out with a group of supportive individuals. I’ll be honest, it’s mainly been women in my classes, but I've seen a few guys sprinkled here and there. It’s so empowering to see so many women come together from all backgrounds, shapes and sizes looking to accomplish the same goal – to look good and feel great! Women are always publicized in the media as trash talkers, backstabbing bitches, but when it comes to us getting it “in” during the work-out we sympathize through the pain together. It’s actually quite inspiring and motivating, especially when you see women in their 50’s toned and pushing through every set and extra hold. Oh, the burn!
2. A Planned Work-Out
Have you ever gone to the gym and made up your own work-out? How successful have you been? Because I suck. I’ll do two miles on the treadmill, 30 minutes on the elliptical, play with some machines, and do some squats for the boys. Are you with me? Are you really pushing yourself? Perhaps, if you’re a professional athlete or fitness competitor, but let’s be honest not all of us have neither the time nor the energy to think about what muscles or exercises we need to work-out. “…Ain’t nobody got time for that!" – let the professionals focus on planning your work-out so you can just… work-out!
3. Fitness Versatility
You have so many classes to choose from and you’ll see new work-outs you've never even heard of before, but I dare ya to try each one. Don’t be scared to try TRX (I’m delaying on this class, but I’ll do it eventually) and don’t avoid yoga because you’re not flexible. It’s time to change up your work-out routine and stretch out those new muscles you never knew existed!
4. A Personal Motivator – Not A Personal Trainer
I call them motivators because they’re not just training you or pushing you to your limit, they’re pushing the entire class. There may be some times where you need a little extra assistance, but who cares – your fitness should only be about you, not anyone else. So don’t feel embarrassed. They want to motivate you and inspire you to push past your limits. It’s a painful experience at first, but the aftermath feels amazing!
5. Organize Your Work-Outs For The Week!
ClassPass allows you to pre-plan your weeks and what type of work-outs you want. Are you in the mood for Yoga? Cycling? Body Pump? Pound? Zumba? With ClassPass you can easily download the app and see what classes are planned for each studio within a particular area. I tend to keep my early morning work-outs closer to where I live, but if I plan on doing an evening or weekend work-out I’ll venture out into the city. The ClassPass app and website make it so easy to reserve a class. It also includes a 24-hour e-mail reminder to let you know of your upcoming classes.
6. Get Back Your Time
How many commercials have you seen where time is the number one issue for people not working out? I've seen countless. Your fitness classes will range from 45-minutes to 90 minutes. I typically stay in the range of an hour and I don’t waste any time in my work-out. I've been to the gym where I've stayed up to two hours doing mindless work-outs and exercises with minimal results. What a waste! Am I right? ClassPass is perfect for people who are organized and only want to work-out for a designated time period, so choose what works best with your schedule.
7. Keeps You Accountable
If you miss a class or don’t cancel within 24-hours, there is a $20.00 penalty fee. Inclement weather or cancellations may happen, so no penalty there, but that’s at the discretion of the instructor. You may consider this a con in your book, but I definitely consider it a pro since it only motivates me even more to make it to the class.
8. It’s Affordable. ONLY $79.99/month!
What a deal! You have unlimited access to over 30+ studios within your city to schedule as many as three classes per studio each month! I've only done seven classes so far in one week and I’m already passed the amount it would have cost to take each class individually with a drop-in class. It’s not $10.00 or $20.00 a month like a particular purple and yellow gym, but as you know – looking good can’t be too cheap. You’ll actually work-out with ClassPass. I paid for a monthly gym membership for a year and there was one time during that year I took a hiatus and didn't go to the gym for four months. They received $80.00 worth of payments from me for not working out? How much sense does that make? Let’s just say I didn't get the body I wanted.
